As I mentioned in this post (which included a video of the soap rolling), the layers for this Jelly Roll were too thick. You can see that my rolled soap cracked (yes, my head is hanging low in shame). Thankfully, the middle part of the oval roll was usable so all the soap was not lost.
In my 9 x 9 pan, I used 8 ounces of soap per layer. In hindsight, a 5 ounce layer would have been appropriate.
I’ll have final photos and the final recipe for Jelly Roll Soap posted on the blog tomorrow, Sunday.
Remember, all comments (on any posts) this week are automatically entered to win a Starter Kit of Essential Oils from Organic Fusion so comment as much as you can. The kit is a pretty sweet deal.

Makes me think of fruit roll ups and how sticky it gets in your teeth, you know that initial clamping down the mashers into the sugar jelly?
Oh, your jelly rolls are putting me into a fruit roll up tizzy!

Kallia – I know you could do the jelly rolls. They are very easy – it’s really just the patience to wait in between layers – and I’d consider them easier than embedding objects (for what it’s worth!) =)
Pajama Mama – If you try making Jelly Rolls, I want to see a photo! I’d love to post it on the blog to share your success with others =)
And, Miss Michelle, you funny girl! I often think about soap and cool designs for soap when I’m making food, eating food or attempting to cook food. So much of what you do in cooking easily translates to making soap. =)

this jelly roll is so neat. I have some melt and pour left over from rose petals and might try this. I was making fudge last night with choc and peanut butter and guess what came to mind? Maybe I can pour this and roll it!

The jelly roll is really nice! I haven’t the skill (in my mind) for melt and pour, but this makes me want to give it a shot to see what I can do. The day one photos of the completed jelly rolls are gorgeous!
