Do you love everything about soap? The scents, smells, bubbles handmade with luxurious ingredients and insane artistic craftsmanship? We do too, which is why we’re organizing another Soap Swap (and the crowd goes wild). It’s an opportunity to showcase your soapmaking skills and a chance to enjoy soap made by fellow soapmakers in our tight-knit community. The very first Soap Swap we organized was right before Christmas and it was a hit! We had over 100+ people participate (jaw dropping). We were up to our knees in soap and loved every minute of it. Now we’re jonesing for round two!
Check out the round up of our last Soap Swap here and more Soap Swap examples here.
Here are the Details
Who can participate? Anyone! You do not have to be a professional soapmaker or vastly experienced. Just do the best you can. International soapmakers are welcome, too. They shipping charges will be a little more than for the domestic swappers, but we are happy to ship swap boxes anywhere. In fact, we already have participants form France, Sweden, and Australia.
- You send us an email telling us what Bramble Berry fragrance you are using and if you are sending CP or M&P. You can enter multiple groups, but it must be ‘full’ groups – meaning, 12 bars of MP and 12 bars of CP if you want in both groups. And yes, feel free to sign up for as many groups as you want. Just know that you’ll be making 12 bars of soap for each group.
- You make 12 bars of soap (Cold Process or Melt and Pour) and label them with the ingredients you used and your name, your company name or soaping alias. They should be full size bars of soap (at least 3.5 oz each)
- You send the soap to Bramble Berry ensuring that it is received by Monday, May 2nd.
- Ship to: Bramble Berry Inc.
- C/O Soap Swap

This sounds like fun! I’ve been wanting to swap.
If we choose a scent that’s already taken, will we be directed to choose another so that there won’t be repeats? Half the fun is experiencing all of the scents. 🙂
Anne-Marie says
It depends – there are SO many people participating that two people with the same scent isn’t a big deal. Send us an email swap (at) brambleberry (dot) com and we’ll get you all sorted out.
DeeAnn says
I hope you have more of these in the future. Like Maile Im just not ready for this one.
Anne-Marie says
We will – they are SO much fun for us to do and we LOVE creating community so this definitely feeds our soaping obsession and helps other soapers see what the rest of the peeps out there are doing too =)
Maile says
Aww … When are you holding the next one ?
Simply put, not prepared for this one =(
Anne-Marie says
Probably six’ish months? We’d love to do this 2 times per year, staff willing and available of course. Sorting, wrapping and then stuffing 123 boxes with 12 bars of soap each is no small task. =)
Anne-Marie says
It’s just shipping costs plus .01 penny. PayPal makes us charge something for the item so it’s a penny to participate + shipping costs. We do it because we love soap and we love to see what our customers/friends are making =)
You can include a few different styles – no worries – just keep them all either CP or all MP.
Anne-Marie says
Yay! Welcome!
TA Helton says
Yea!!! I love your swaps. I’m definately in this one again 😉
Roma2021 says
This is so exciting!
Two questions: Can you tell me what the cost is beyond the shipping costs?
Also, do I need to send 12 identical bars or can I include a few different styles for a total of 12? Can’t wait! Thanks!
Anne-Marie says
I do too! And I’ll enter as well. I just can’t help myself =)
Melissa Jensen says
Hmmm…don’t know why this double posted, but now it won’t let me delete.
Melissa Jensen says
Count me in…again!! I still have soap from the last time, but alas I just can’t resist!!
Anne-Marie says
Awesome! Glad to have you aboard. =)
kellyanntaylor says
YAY! That was fun! I am up for it!
Anne-Marie says
If you’re doing a really fun blend, we can definitely have you participate but you would get 12 bars of soap back that probably used primarily fragrance oils so that might not be that much fun for you.
Anne-Marie says
LOL! Isn’t that how that always goes? Pretty soon, you’ll need to start selling those soaps to support your hobby!
Dubnica2001 says
I think I will join in. This will be my first swap. I have been soaping since last July and I probabaly made over 400 soaps 🙂 What can I say? My family and friends are really clean these days.
Tracy Bernhardt says
Hope you will someday be doing this with essential oils (hint hint)!! I don’t use fragrance oils in my soap, but love my BB EO’s!
Anne-Marie says
YAY! We had such a fun time doing it too.
Anne-Marie says
You can pick up at our retail store for sure =) We’ll just need to work with you to make sure that we have our timing down (that the box is at the store when you get there! LOL!)
Anne-Marie says
As long as it’s a Bramble Berry fragrance oil, you’re good. You don’t need to buy a new fragrance oil if you have a perfectly good one sitting at home from us =)
Heidi (HJBSoaps) says
Oooh! Oooh! Oooh! *Jumping up and down before I’ve even had coffee*
Its been ages since I did a swap! I’m on board with cp for sure!!
Just wondering though, I promised my husband I wouldn’t buy anymore fo’s until some of mine were gone. I’m swimming in them right now 😀 Is it ok if I just use what I have here? 99% of them are BB so I’d be sure I use one of yours 😀
Maddiesmommie2002 says
I live in ferndale and work in Bellingham .5 miles from the store. Do I have to pay for shipping or can I pick up?
Catherine Moody Dreher says
I LOVED the first soap swap! This news made my day! Can’t wait!
Anne-Marie says
I know what you mean; I have a TON of soap and just keep getting more =)
Lisa_geeck says
I was in the last swap, so far I’ve only used 2 soaps out of the 12 I got, I’m going to be swimming in swap soap! I e-mailed, but I’m not sure what scent I’m going to use yet.
Anne-Marie says
Awesome! Welcome!
Anne-Marie says
Definitely – but you do pay shipping to us and shipping back to you – so the higher cost of shipping does end up hitting you both ways. We’d love to have you if you can swing it. =)
Anne-Marie says
Definitely not – we’d love to have you – but know that shipping to us and shipping from us will be more than if you were in the United States.
Anne-Marie says
It’s open to anyone! Just follow the rules with regards to the clarity in labeling, and we’d love to have you!
Beautifulyou_2010 says
I have a couple questions: 1) does it have to be bar soap? (I’m thinking perhaps a cupcake soap) and 2) can it be a combination soap- CP & MP?
Barbara Lucia Curiel-Manzano says
Sorry if i come cross dense but, is this for professional soap makers/soap business owners only?
Karen says
Do you have to be in the US?
Jennifer says
Can Canadians participate, given the higher cost of postage?
Beautifulyou_2010 says
This sounds great, think I may give it a go!
