Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend filled with fun and family. Now it’s back to work, reality and time to get started on our SMARTER goals for 2012. If you don’t have a SMARTER goal it’s not too late to make one. Set yourself up for success by making your goal Specific, Measurable, Agreed, Realistic, Time-Bound, Ethical and Recorded. THEN post your goal in the comments section to win the Crazy Sexy Diet Book. Bonus points if you join the Bramble Berry staff in a 21 day adventure cleanse starting January 16th (see original blog post on the Crazy Sexy Diet HERE). But, in a nutshell? No coffee, no alcohol, no sugar, no meat and no white flour. Think lots of fresh fruits and veggies, fresh juices and healthy, home-prepared food – read more in her ‘Manifesto’ here. You can buy the book here or check it out at your library to see what we’re getting into and, most importantly, to see if you’d like to join us! We’re looking at it like a giant healthy nutrition reboot. It’ll give us a good opportunity to get all of the bad stuff out of our diet in one fell swoop.
Raw Chia Seed Pudding from Heal thful Sense
Ingredients:
1/4 cup chia seeds
1 cup vanilla almond milk
1/2 banana, mashed
1 tbsp. nut butter
cinnamon
Instructions:
1.) Simply combine the chia seeds, almond milk, peanut butter and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Mash 1/2 of a banana and stir it into the chia seed mixture.
2.) Let the mixture sit for 15 minutes. Give it a good stir and then let sit for an additional 10 minutes (this is why it’s convenient to make the night before!). You’ll notice that the chia seeds will form a gel.

The Contest:
Tell us your SMARTER goal (see above photo for explanation) in the comments below for a chance to win the Crazy Sexy Diet Book. We’ll pick THREE winners to receive a copy of the Crazy Sexy Diet Book. And if you don’t win the book you can still do the 21 day cleanse with us (read about it here). C’mon, it’s only 21 days! We can do ANYTHING for 21 days! =)
You’ll have until January 4th to submit your SMARTER goals in the comments section of the blog.
Do you need to read more on SMART goals? Check out the post HERE. But, here’s a cheat sheet:
Not a SMART goal: “I want to lose weight”
SMART goal: “I will lose 6 pounds by April 30th, 2011 by working out 3 times per week, limiting alcohol to 3 glasses per week and by cutting out all refined sugars.”
Ready? C’mon, get crazy ‘n’ sexy with the Bramble Berry Team!

My SMART goal: I will lose 30 pounds by May of 2012, by increasing my intentional exercise to 3 times per week, limiting alcohol to 3 glasses per week and by cutting out refined products and increasing my vegetable and fruit intake.
I am looking to make healthy life choices and changes that will stay with me for years to come.

Ok well I can not seem to find much on the cleanse other then what is on the book website…..but in looking at the ingredients for recipes I can find, I am afraid I will not be able to participate with you in the cleanse to the full extent due to geological location and produce availability in the towns near where I live. One of the truly frustrating things about parts of Montana! Especially this time of the year, even the health food stores/coops have limited fresh veggies and fruits.

I’ve been thinking about making some changes since my 30th birthday is fast approaching, so this is a good place to get started! My SMART Goal is:
I would like to lose 10 lbs by April 10th. I will reach my goal by:
-Doing the Couch25k program 3 days a week and walking 2 days a week.
-Cutting out refined sugars
-Increasing my fruit intake to a minimum of 3 servings a day and veggie intake to 4 servings a day
Yay! I can’t wait to start feeling progress.

I love that you are fostering a supportive community with this cleanse! I’m in! My goal is to increase my energy by March 21st (the first day of Spring and my youngest child’s 5th birthday!)by working out at least 3 times a week, eliminating all refined products, increasing my fruit/veggie intake to 7+ servings a day and cutting caffeine from my diet. Yay!

My SMARTER goal is to cut out night-time snacks and only eat daytime snacks 3 days a week. Additionally, I plan to exercise 3 or 4 days a week in order to trim my body to lose 1 clothing size. I plan to reach this goal by June 2012 (my youngest daughter’s 2 year birthday!).

HAPPY NEW YEAR Bramble Berry!
I’d LOVE to participate in the 21 day cleanse. I’m already 1 step ahead of the game because I already eat no meat. But no coffee or sugar? WAH!!!
I’d love to be a winner of the book! I’ll get my hubby to participate in the cleanse too 🙂
My SMART goal isn’t weight/food related. Well… I’m going to continue a SMART food goal from last year and that is to try a new recipe at least once a month. But I’d like to add that I need to incorporate the new recipes we like into our daily diet. It’s so easy to fall back into the same routine! I’m so glad that I take photos of almost everything we eat so I can always go back for reference. And I need to use my Vitamix more often.
Ok. My real SMART goal is to monetize my blog. I’ve already started some affiliate programs and receiving sponsor ad spaces for a small fee. Last year my 3-part craft show tip series were well received. So I’d like to combine it all to an ebook with worksheets for a small fee. And I’m thinking of writing an ebook on tips on how I stay organized.
Hmmm… I think those projects will take up 2012!
Thanks for sponsoring this awesome healthy giveaway!!!

My goal is agreed so I’m agreeing to do this cleanse. I’m also going to join in on the 21 day cleanse with your staff.
Also my goal for 2012 is to be healthy and feel alive.
I’ve borrowed the book from the library and hope to win it.

I will loose 12 pounds by Nov 3rd 2011 because that happens to be the date of my wedding. Yay. I am already a vegetarian but will cut down on dairy products. I do love
my cheese. I plan to limit alcoholic drinks to special occasions, no more than 2 drinks per occasion. I am currently working on my workout plan which will include jogging with a little P90x workout videos. I know…I’m asking for it. I also plan to track my workouts so that I’m able to gain strength and endurance. And most importantly fit perfectly into my wedding dress.
