My little friend Kyle was diagnosed with an inoperable brainstem tumor in February 2007. Since then, he’s undergone radiation, clinical trials, chemotherapy, surgery and more. He is a very brave boy. To read more about his treatment, see pictures and learn more about his family, click here to be taken to his blog. Kyle’s Mom, Christin, also writes a blog about her daily experience of juggling two active boys, a full time job, Kyle’s medical treatments and side-effects. You can read her blog here.
One of the things that makes him and his older brother Nicolas very happy is mail! When I went to visit them last night, they were both opening Christmas cards from well wishers. Many of the cards were corporate cards from local businesses who had tossed Kyle and Nicolas onto their own mailing lists and other cards were elaborate handmade cards with long notes. It didn’t matter what sort of card it was – the boys were thrilled to receive holiday wishes from people all across Washington state who were wishing them well.
If you have a moment, please send Kyle and Nicolas a Christmas card. They love opening them and their Mama is planning on stringing them up in the hallway, for a giant reminder of how many people are rooting for Kyle and his family.
Their address is:
Kyle and Nicolas Roger
837 South Hills Drive
Bellingham, WA 98229
PS – If you have any bath fizzies lying around, Kyle loves to take baths and bath fizzies make it much more fun for him.

Thanks Michelle and Fox Den – The boys will really appreciate the cards and the support (especially your bath fizzies, Michelle).

I make crocheted bunnies… I’ll get them in the mail monday! I’m on a cancer support chat group… I will share his address with them, if it’s ok. After watching my little cousin deal with cancer, meeting some of his friends at the MD Anderson center in Texas… I am amazed and impressed by these wonderful kids. Big hugs from Virginia!

I sent a handmade card by my mom. She is a “Chemo Angel” and she makes cards to send to her chemo buddies. They have a web site that I sent to Kyle. Sometimes it is nice to be able to talk to someone outside your family. Most of the angels are cancer survivors. I also just happened to have a couple hundred bath bombs left over from a craft show. There is a box on its way now to Kyle and his brother. Thank you for posting this, it is nice to be able to do something, no matter how small, to help brighten someones day.

I don’t think I have any bath fizzies in the house, but I have plenty of cards that I’ll be happy to send to Kyle. I hope a technological advance will be made soon that can cure him with very little pain.

So sorry to hear about little Kyle. I am babysitting my three little grandchildren tomorrow. We’ll come up with a special card or cards for the boys.

Sorry about that. I guess I was hoping I knew of a new option that nobody had looked into.
What a brave boy to have to go through so much.

Thanks Lola!
Body Natural, The tumor is diffuse – meaning it’s like spaghetti. The laser or ion beams can’t be targeted precisely enough to eradicate the tumor. We tried very hard to get him into some of those programs but the tumor has too many small strands to accurately target it. But it’s a good thought! =)

Here is another link where I believe they are using the carbon ion beams for treating head tumors.

I know you know me as body natural soap, but I also work at Los Alamos laboratory on the Trident Laser Team. Some remarkable things are being done with ion beams and cancer. I will try to find more info. Look at this link http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2006/01/060126193805.htm
When we get back to work I will look into this more. My prayers will go out to this family.
