28 Days Later: The Talika results are in and I can’t tell the difference (sad face).
Check out the original blog post here. I applied the Talika Lash Extender every day for 28 days in hopes for longer and more beautiful lashes. Here are my before and after pictures.
Before Talika
After Talika
Here’s what I was looking forward to: Longer Lashes in just 28 days with a conditioner that cleanses and conditions the lashes. The eye decompress refreshes and decongests your eyes and the eye therapy patch smooths the eye contour reducing under eye wrinkles in 30 minutes. Comes with Lipocils, Lash Conditioning Cleanser, Eye Decompress (the mask) and the Eye Therapy Patch.
Lipocils Ingredients: Aqua (water), Lecithin, Carbomer, Hypericum Perforatum (hypericum Extract), Pyrus Malus (Apple Extract), Hamamelis Hippocastanum (Witch Hazel Extraxt, Aesculus Hippocastanum (Horse Chesnet Extract), Uritca Dioica (Nettle extract), Sodium Lactate, Lactic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Allantoin, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben.
I think it’s safe to say that the Talika did not work for me and that’s not meant to discourage anyone from trying it. I did happen find some fabulous mascara that did the trick! What do you think? It’s Double Extend by L’Oreal, and it turns out, mascara works just as well as anything. I’ll keep coating my puny lashes with the wax-oil-pigment combos and be happy with what grows naturally.

In my opinion, all those lash-growing products are a waste of money and they're not as effective or cheap as just using false eyelashes. I like to use Ardell individual lashes. They come in little clusters (fifty for $3.00), they stay put for days, they're easy to put on, and they look natural.

Magic Lash lash enhancer is really great. It's loose fibers that you use with mascara to build up your lashes.
I also like Maybelline's Colossal mascara

(laughing) Desert, You are so funny! I would be paranoid to get anything close to my eyes that was sharp that I was actually handling myself! =)))
A.J. – Totally! My husband has the sweetest long lashes and you're right, no mascara on that man … =)

Have you ever noticed that alot of men have beautiful long eye-lashes? I wonder if the trick is to never use mascara.

When I was about 8 years old I decided to use my mother's nail scissors to cut my eyelashes. My mom said they would never grow back, but they did and now they are longer than most of my family's. Wonder if its the same as the shaving thing. The more you shave the more you have to or the more you cut your hair the more it grows? Let me add a bit of a disclaimer though, my great grandmother had cataract surgery and they cut hers off and they never grew back. Its a risk, but a worthy one. hehe

Well Anne Marie I thank you for doing the test for us! As you can see you are in good company. Me myself, I use Lancome that I buy from their outlet, a little dated but it works just fine. Other I know have gone the false eyelash route but I'm too much a wash and wear girl for that!

Tincan and Under the Willow, Hilarious! After looking at the photos again, I totally agree! Ha ha …
Definitely not going the rX route with the possible side effects but I'm taking a trip to the grocery store to get some of those mascaras.
JoyHunee, Thanks for the feedback for you for how the Lash Stiletto worked. Hmm….

I actually think your lashes looked fuller and longer in the Before pic! But I reckon give the Lumigan thing a shot if you seriously are wanting pimp your your lashes!

I have also tried Lash Stiletto, and I have blonde fine lashes too. I'm still looking for my receipt to take it back. I couldn't hardly tell that I had put any on even after two coats. I'm glad it works well for the other lady, I'm back on the hunt…
Under the Willow says
On my computer ~ your lashes actually look longer on your "before" picture.

I love Super Shock mascara from AVON. It really makes your lashes go BOOM!!!! It doesn't clump, flake or smear off either!

Lash Stilleto by Maybelline is also amazing. It worked wonders for me, it comes in a container that looks like the stilleto heal of a shoe, (which is kinda funny if you think about it) but it is great! I agree with the woman who said, I think the best way is just to find a brand of Mascara that you really love that works for you and try their extending lashes line. Probably is cheaper too!
Thanks for the info though, I had been wondering if those Rx lash meds worked.

I swear by Loreal Double Extend!
I'd never found a mascara that did anything but make my lashes look like clumpy little spiders stuck to my eyes. But Double Extend gives me length and volume that I didn't think was possible!
Must admit that I use Maybelline Great Lash on my lower lashed because the Double Extend does wonky things to my lower lashes that only need definition, not to be extended down to my cheeks!
Natalia says
why you dont try false eyelashes??
LittleGemsbyKari says
oo double extend looks great. i'm with you RX isn't worth it.

Thanks for all the comments, Team. I love the other suggestions – will try them all out. But will probably stay away from the rX stuff just because I've read about some of the side effects (with the dark spots). It sure was a fun experiment while it lasted though!
I will check out the Lash Allure and RadidLash and if they look promising, do the same experiment again. =))
Anyone else have any other great ideas?

Very interesting experiment! I was curious about the results… looks like your Double Extend really does work! 🙂

I read a great write up not too long ago about all these eyelash enhancers. The bottom line was just if it's not FDA approved as a drug currently, it won't do squat. The hormones/ drugs in Latisse and similar things are considered actual drugs requiring a prescription and those things that make your lashes grow legally can't be sold yet in any non-prescription form I've read about. It sucks!
If you want to really give it a go, ask your doctor for Lumigan. It's the generic equivalent of Latisse and cost you literally a couple bucks more than than the Talika stuff. I tried it and it's bizarre. It works though for sure!

Cool experiment! Thanks for sharing it.

A friend of mine has been using Lash Allure with great results. YOu might want to try that.

I'm thinking about trying RadidLash… have you heard anything about that one??
Julie-Ann says
I decided that myself a long time ago. Just find a brand you like. I'm a Maybelline person myself.
